Who Called Me From 213-217-9999?
Someone saying they are from Windows, And my computer downloaded a virus.
A male voice called and wanted to make sure that I could hear him...he started his call by saying that I had been chosen to receive a trip to Disneyland or Disneyworld and five nights stay at a resort but first he had to ask me some questions to make sure I qualify...his first question is, "Do you have a credit card or debit card?" I was not aware at that moment that the call is a scam and of course I answered, yes..but nothing more than just the word YES..he proceeded to ask the question again and that is when it hit me that this was a scam call..i immediately told him that I do not need a trip anywhere and that I will end this conversation now...at which time I hung up on him..i called the number back and the message I got from a machine is..."The number you have dialed is unallegated"...
Recieved a call from this number 6 times in the last 3 weeks, I believe it is the computer scam as Tara above said, the last two calls a woman finally says hello and then they hang up. Once when I got the call I told the gentleman who called me better take my number off their list I dont own computer lol
Thought this might be a scam. I was afraid it was a "call back the # and then get slammed with a huge phone charge" con. Not going to dial back, however Phonso wrote "I called the number back and the message I got from a machine is..."The number you have dialed is unallegated"... So yeah, Just blow them off and they'll move on.
got the same call. thanks for all the input.
wanted to get a virus out of my computer , claimed they were from Windows
I'll bet there is NO non-commercial number in the USA ending in 9999.....
