This scammer calls numbers on the national do not call registry in violation of the Telephone Consumer Protection Act. They further violate the TCPA by failing to have an operator on the line when the call is answered, and still further violate the TCPA by playing a recorded message without an operator on the line to pause the recording and answer questions. When you do get to an operator, they further violate the TCPA by hanging up when you ask for a phone number. Their recording is the standard interest rate reduction scam. This is clearly a scam. Do not provide this scammer with any personal or financial information.

Number called to offer 'free' 'no obligation' home assessment for electricity usage and available rebates in Fl for FL homeowners- trouble is they want all homeowners present and for a home to have people working and the electric bill over 150$ a month- also they say 30-60 minute presentation. They say it's tax funded and WILL reduce the electricity bill by 30%- no company name given when asked.

Something is seriously wrong with the calls coming from this phone number. For the past 3 weeks, I have received calls from this number with "Florida" in the caller ID. No messages. Today, I received a call from this same number with the name of Dianne Wright in the caller ID. Some strange phenomena related to this phone number are: (1) On the " why call me" website, this phone number is registered to an elderly woman named Glenna Fisher in Haines City, FL This information was confirmed on the ypeek dot addresses dot com website through the haines city, florida white pages. The phone number was also confirmed at this website. (2) Why would this woman be randomly calling tons of people multiple times per day and week, saying that her name is: Tina, Robin Smith, Dianne Wright and someone from the
AIC energy company? (3) It appears that some scammer has spoofed this woman's phone number for their scam calls. (4) The BBB has recently advised that there are new scams being used: one which spoofs the phone numbers of regular people in the caller ID and the other scam which spoofs the phone numbers of the targeted call. The BBB says
that in both cases, the objective is to trick the person into picking up the phone. Phone numbers of regular people are not likely to be on the lists of spoofed numbers available online. People who see their own phone numbers in the caller ID are supposed to be so shocked and/or curious (hoped for by the scammer), that they will pick up the phone if for no other reason, just to see why their own phone number is showing up in their caller ID. Whoever is behind the calls from this number, it is clearly a scam. I feel very badly for the woman whose phone number is obviously being abused.

recent articles from the better business bureau (central east texas),
scam busters dot org and the fiscal times dot com explain that there are a couple of new scams floating about. First Scam: telemarketers and scammers are using (spoofing) the phone numbers of regular people
in order to get householders to pick up the phone. The phone numbers
of regular people, including small businesses, are not likely to be
found in the compiled lists of spoofed numbers such as the lists found on the caller complaints website. That would explain why we and many
other posters are receiving tons of calls from florists, child day
care centers, family businesses in tampa, florida and the elderly.
The Second Scam: telemarketers and scammers are using (spoofing)
the telephone numbers of the actual householder whom they call.
The BBB article stated that the apparent objective is for the
householder to be so shocked and/or curious that their own phone
number shows up in their caller ID, that they will pick up the
phone just to see what the call is all about. The BBB advises
not to do that. BBB also says that if you miss the call, do not
call "your" number back. And as always, do not give out any
financial or personal identifying information. What a world we
live in today, eh?

florida:

This number is listed as belonging to an elderly woman in Haines City, FL. I seriously doubt that she is the one calling people randomly. However, I have been reading the posts on the different websites and there is a new scam that telemarketers and scammers are using. They are SPOOFING THE PHONE NUMBERS OF REGULAR PEOPLE, knowing that their phone numbers will not be part of the lists of spoofed numbers such as can be found on the caller complaints website. There is no way that an old woman is randomly calling people. I suspect that this woman's phone number may have been hi-jacked and is being used for these scammers.

No clue who they are. no message the first time they called. The second time they called I hung up on them.

recent articles from better business bureau, scam busters dot org and the fiscal times dot com say that there are new scams. One is for the telemarketers and scammers to use (spoof) the phone numbers of regular people (especially small business phones) knowing that these numbers will not be on the compiled lists of spoofed numbers available online.
That would probably explain why we and lots of other posters are getting calls randomly from local florists, family businesses in
tampa, florida, child day care centers and even the elderly, including an elderly woman of 86 in haines city, florida. The other scam is
to use (spoof) the phone number of the householder being called. The
BBB says that the objective is for the householder to be so shocked
or curious or both to see his or her phone number in the caller ID
that they pick up the phone. BBB warns against this but if you do
pick up, do not press any buttons that you may be instructed to do
by caller or recording. If you missed the call, do not call
"your" number back and of course, do not give out any financial
or personal identifying information.
