Nina Stallworth:

I accidentally called this number thinking I was calling Sam's Club customer service. A recorded message indicated that "the merchants system was down." It went on to say, "For the inconvenience you will receive $100 voucher." I held the line and spoke to a representative who offered me the voucher for a one-time mailing fee of $4.95. I took the bait and then listened to several offers; all of which I declined. My instincts said to run but I didn't listen...in the weeks that followed the initial contact on July 11th, Bank of America has flagged my account for fraud twice. To combat the problem I called the number 888-745-7726 to complain and was given the run around. First, the supervisor told me that the "$2.95" charge would show up on my account as a purchase from "USPS" not for USPS but from. I asked that he verify their company NAME and explained that since they were not USPS the charge should show as their company. I explained that I declined all offers presented to me on July 11th, but have seen to charges from Family Save since contact. He told me they were not Family Save, however when speaking to the representative on July 11th I was told the charge would show on my account as Family Save. He referred me to another company and suggested that I call 1-800-555-1212 (this is the number for directory assistance). I called back or rather tried to call back and have seemingly been blocked. Family Save, the company that appears on my bank statement agreed to reverse their charges but could not explain how they had access to my account in the first place. Sam's Club customer service is 888-746-7726. It seems as though the company I called is waiting to pounce on consumers that intended to call Sam's Club but accidentally dialed them.To protect. Myself from. Future charges I have canceled the card a d will never be fooled again... If it sounds to good be true... Never give your information and debit account number to a business you did not intend to call.

888 497 1411 is a toll free number which is obvious scam . A computer voice tells the person called that the person is entitled to a refund because the software company from whom a purchase was allegedly made has been ordered closed down . The person is then told to call the 888 number to arrange for the refund . The calling company may or may not identify itself or garble the company name so that it is unintelligible. There are no refunds . There is merely a fishing expedition designed to obtain credit card or other information useful for identity theft . A reputable company simply refunds money due , for whatever reason , without requiring you to call it to arrange for a repayment .

They said they were the social security office and they did an address change per our request which was not true and they did not have the unit number and they would like the correct address but they never said our name so I am not believing this one. Plus, we never moved!

Potential scam targeting seniors from the "National Processing Center"
Area residents have reported receiving a mailing from the “National Processing Center” telling them about “Senior Final Expense Information.” It asks recipients to send back a postcard with their signature, age, spouse’s name, and phone number. We believe it is unwise to send this postcard back with your signature and personal information. Please let others know about this potential scam. This is not from a government agency, even though it has the word National in the title and lists a Pennsylvania Avenue Washington DC address. Affairs.
The Texas Attorney General in 2006 filed a lawsuit against a Lewisville, Tx. company called “America's Recommended Mailers Inc.” for deceptive trade practices. The Texas AG alleged that the company sent misleading mailings to elderly persons in Texas and elsewhere. The company used the name “National Processing Center” and the same Washington, D.C. private mailbox that appears on the card. “America's Recommended Mailers” develops obtains personal information from seniors and creates target sales lists for insurance and other financial products. Among the clients of “America's Recommended Mailers” are agents who sell long-term care insurance, Medicare supplement insurance, funeral expense insurance or annuities. They target seniors who have been enticed to respond to the “alarming messages” on the postcards.
