I just received a phone call from this phone number today. A woman left me a voicemail saying, "Hi. This message is for Paul ******** (she mispronounced my last name). This is Danielle calling from HRS. You can give me a call back at 800-337-4359. You can reference your file number, which is *******. I'm open Monday through Friday 8 AM to 4:30 PM, Pacific Standard Time. Thank you."
At first, I thought this was a call about an employment opportunity, because HRS is also the name of a hotel company, and I have applied for many hotel jobs. Skeptical, I decided to Google the phone number, as well as the name, HRS. HRS are the initials of many different companies, so I got nowhere with that search. However, this phone number doesn't appear to be affiliated with any hotel company, and the only results I get about this phone number are saying that this is a debt collector, which makes more sense.
I am in debt to several different companies, but mainly I am in debt to hospitals for unpaid medical bills which are way too expensive for me to ever afford in this lifetime. "HRS" is also the initials of "Healthcare Reimbursement Specialists", which are debt collectors for medical bills. I called the number back, and it goes to straight to an automated message which says, "Thank you for calling HRS. Your call may be recorded for quality purposes. This is an attempt to collect a debt. Any information obtained will be used regarding that purpose. Please stay on the line, and your call will be answered in the order it was received." That's when I hung up. I can't afford any more bills right now.
