Got a recorded message to call this number, that it was the IRS and it was important. When I called a woman with a very heavy Indian accent answered "thank you for calling IRS how can I help you". So she finds out who I am and then tells me her name and employee number which I could not understand, had her repeat it, still didn't understand her, asked her to spell it and she did so fast and with such a heavy accent that I still didn't get anything beyond the first letter was H. She started telling me that the IRS is going to be suing me within the next few days if I don't talk to their lawyer, but her accent is so heavy it took several repeats for me to glean that much info from her spiel. She was saying several other things too but all I could catch was something about my tax returns from 2008 thru 2012. I honestly could not understand the majority of what she was saying. I asked her twice if she would switch my call to someone in the USA - 1st time she said yes and then kept going with her jabber, and the 2nd time I asked her to switch me, she hung up. I then called the real IRS and was told that the IRS will not call you like that unless they have 1st sent you mail which you have ignored. We didn't get to the part about giving her my credit card info, but I am positive that's where she was headed if she could have made herself understood.
